How do you feel about these large-scale financial decisions, and how would you balance the need for modernized facilities with responsibility to taxpayers?
On April 23, 2025, Catherine and her opponent were asked to provide thoughts on the most recent long-range facilities plan. The Long Range Facilities Planning Committee will vote on this plan on May 5, 2025, and if passed, the Board will vote on the plan on May 20, 2025.

Planning for Impact (Not Just Ideas)
On April 9, Eanes unveiled a long-term plan for its school facilities—including school rebuilds, consolidations, retail, and parking spaces. It's an ambitious vision, and one that now needs to connect with what matters most to families and educators.
This is a chance to align our investments with teacher retention, enrollment, and student success—and build a plan our whole community can support.

Where I Stand on WACC & WAQUA
Two major facilities. Two contract terminations. Thousands of students impacted. And now, Eanes ISD faces mounting legal and financial risk. The WACC and WAQUA breakdowns weren’t just legal moves—they were a failure to plan. We can fix that.

Turning the Page on Deficit Budgets
A budget isn’t just a spreadsheet—it’s a statement of priorities.
Yet, Eanes ISD has approved deficit budgets for six straight years, even as revenue rose. It’s time for a new approach—one that prioritizes balanced budgets and paying down our $7M projected deficit.

Investing in What Matters Most: Teachers
Great schools grow from great teachers. In Eanes, we’ve been fortunate to have some of the most dedicated, talented educators in the state. But we can’t take that for granted. If we want to retain excellence, we have to support it—clearly, consistently, and strategically.

When Your Term Ends, What Do You Want Your Biggest Achievement in Special Education to Be?
At the end of my term, I want to know that every child in Special Education services received the support they needed to thrive. I also want to create a culture where families feel open and free to engage.

What Policies Would You Advocate For to Improve School Safety and Prevent Bullying for Students With Disabilities?
As a member of the School Safety Health and Advisory Council, I am committed to improving the safety of all our children. Children with disabilities are twice as likely to experience bullying, and we need to work with Parent Partners to address this issue.

What It Means to Serve on the Eanes ISD School Board — Now
The world has changed, and so has what it takes to lead a school district.
What once worked—celebrating excellence, staying the course—isn’t enough in a time of declining enrollment, rising deficits, and state funding shortfalls.

Eanes Is at a Crossroads—The Status Quo Is No Longer an Option
Our district is at a crossroads—and what got us here won’t get us there.
The systems that once sustained Eanes—steady growth, strong rankings, and community trust—are no longer guaranteed.

Transparency Isn’t a Buzzword. It’s a Responsibility.
Over the past year, what I’ve seen has reinforced one truth: we cannot solve what we are unwilling to confront. And that begins with transparency.

Has Catherine Walker Changed?
I wrote this post to explain why I’ve gone from quiet concern to sounding the alarm — and why it’s time we start having direct, honest, and fact-based conversations.

What I Would Have Done for $210 Million
Eanes ISD let $210M slip through the cracks. Here’s what I would have done differently.
